With everyone spending more time at home these days, we’ve had plenty of time to evaluate our current living space. Our lives have changed, and our use of space in the home has changed with it!

For our Winchester clients, they wanted to differentiate their home and work space environments. Rather than adjust the functionality of a current room within their home, they thought outside the box. A shed, which is typically thought of as a storage space, had been transformed into a personalized “work from home” office. To expand upon this extended living space, our clients enlisted the help of TCC to attach a deck.

This extended “home office” shed allowed for the ability to install an 8×8 ground deck.  Our team first installed four 12” concrete footings. The material chosen for this particular deck was Pressure Treated wood. Pressure Treated wood is a popular, more affordable option when choosing decking materials. It is readily available, easy to work with, and is resistant to mold, rot and insect damage. The downside; it requires frequent maintenance in the form of cleaning and sealing for the best upkeep. In this case, an affordable decking option was the perfect choice for this particular customization.

Our client is left with an extension to his home office; an outdoor space to work, enjoy his morning cup of coffee or take a break from zoom meetings. If you are trying to create a decking solution for your home, give us a call today to discuss your options!
